Description: 

Recognizing the growing need for awareness and understanding of academic integrity, One UPH Library organized a treasure hunt competition that combined the six pillars of academic integrity with information literacy. Titled Scholar Integrity Quest: The Game of Wits, the event took place at The Johannes Oentoro Library on Saturday, February 15, 2025, and attracted over 60 enthusiastic students.

The competition was executed successfully, with participants expressing their enjoyment of the experience. One participant remarked, “This game challenged our information literacy skills while deepening our understanding of academic integrity.”

The event concluded with the announcement of three winners. The first-place winner shared that the competition not only enhanced their information literacy skills but also increased their awareness of the six pillars of academic integrity. One UPH Library hopes that through this initiative, all participants have gained valuable knowledge to help them recognize and avoid actions that compromise academic integrity.

Description: 

The UPH Library conducted a benchmarking study of several libraries in the Special Region of Yogyakarta last December 2024. This initiative aims to enhance the library's services, programs, and facilities for its users from learning with other libraries. Among the libraries visited were those recognized for their prestigious programs at the national level, such as the Sanata Dharma University Library, which won first place in the 2024 Higher Education Library Innovation Competition. Other notable institutions included Gadjah Mada University Library and Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta Library, which excel in cultural preservation and archiving. Atma Jaya University Library offers an engaging literacy program and effective social media management.

Based on this benchmarking activity, the UPH Library is committed to improving and adopting new programs and services to better serve its users' needs. The library hopes this benchmarking effort will foster positive relationships between libraries in Indonesia.

Description: 

Over the past three years, the UPH Faculty of Law, UPH Library, and Hukum Online have collaborated to provide valuable services and information regarding criminal, civil, and business law through the Hukum Online portal. This portal is accessible via the UPH Library website. In response to the high interest and usage by UPH students and lecturers, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Hukum Online Corner on the 3rd floor of The Johannes Oentoro Library. This dedicated space offers enhanced services and access compared to the previous portal. 

Equipped with Hukumonline ASK AI, the Hukum Online Corner assists students and lecturers in finding information on Indonesian law topics and helps them with assignments. Additionally, it provides full premium access, surpassing the previous access level.

The Hukum Online Corner also encourages students, lecturers, and staff to subscribe for free to Hukum Online premium stories (using UPH email only) and to receive the latest newsletters about Indonesian law. Premium story subscriptions can be activated through the link: bit.ly/aktivasi-hukumonline. We hope that this new corner will make studying more manageable and enjoyable for our law students.

Description: 

One UPH Library competed in the national arena against 9 of the best universities in Indonesia, including Institut Agama Islam Negeri Langsa, Politeknik Internasional Bali, Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Semarang, Universitas Andalas, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Sanata Dharma, and Universitas Telkom. The One UPH Library won 2nd Runner-up in the Higher Education Library Innovation Competition held by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.

One UPH Library introduced the Collaborative Approach Innovation for Improving Digital Competence and Academic Writing of Lecturers program at this event. This program focuses on enhancing the academic writing skills of lecturers and teachers at UPH in the current era through collaboration between the Library and the Human Resources Department.

The results achieved by the UPH Library have motivated it to continue providing innovative and excellent service to the entire UPH academic community in the future.

Description: 

The Indonesian Christian College Library Communication Forum (FKPPTKI) organized a workshop with the theme "Transformation of Traditional Libraries to Artificial Intelligence-Based Libraries: Opportunities and Challenges" on August 22-23, 2024 at Ciputra University, Surabaya. The workshop aimed to equip college libraries and librarians to deal with disruptive changes in the 4.0 era. Topics covered during the workshop included the use of artificial intelligence in library services, information literacy in the AI era, and practical training in areas such as administration, academic research, and library data visualization. The goal of the workshop was to enhance librarians' skills in embracing new technologies to support future library services. Our Librarian was actively involved in this event as the chief committee, committee member, and speaker.

Dr. Dra. Luki Wijayanti, S.S., M.Hum, from Universitas Indonesia opened the seminar by explaining that user services, especially AI-based reference services, can help optimize library performance to meet user expectations. In another discussion, Prof. Dr. Rahma Sugihartati, Dra., M.Si., from Universitas Airlangga outlined two approaches to redefining the role of librarians that libraries can take in facing this change. The first approach is proactive-aggressive, which involves recruiting new staff with expertise in artificial intelligence and improving the skills of existing staff to adapt to AI technology.

This seminar included other seminars and workshops with the following topics:
1. Seminar on 5 Levels of Kuhlthau Intervention Zones as Standards for In-depth Research Reference Services, by Mr. Chandra Pratama Setiawan, S.IIP., M.Sc.
2. Seminar on the New Face of Information Literacy in the Era of Artificial Intelligence, by Mr. Dhama Gustiar Baskoro, S.S., M.Pd.,
3. Workshop on Utilizing AI for Library Data Visualization by Mr. Chandra Pratama Setiawan
4. Workshop on Utilizing AI for Administration and Services of Higher Education Libraries by Mr. Dhama Gustiar Baskoro
5. Training class on Utilizing AI for Research and Academic Writing by Mr. Nicholas Sio Pradiva, S.IP.

The UPH Library was nominated as one of the top 10 participants in the 2024 Higher Education Library Innovation Competition, competing against several other universities. UPH Library presented an information literacy program called "Collaborative Approach with the Human Resources Department to Improve Digital Competence and Academic Writing of Lecturers" or called as Academic Writing Training Course (AWTC). The judges highly appreciated this collaborative activity as it directly impacted the training for improving the academic writing skills of UPH lecturers to support IKU number 5.
