It is generally more difficult to find citations to books than to journal articles, although Google Scholar includes some citing references to books (see the Citation Impact page of this guide).
Some ways of demonstrating book impact are through
- Citations: Google Book citations
- Library holdings: the number of libraries worldwide that have purchased your book
- Views: Page view and download statistics from your publisher's website or the repository where you've archived your book/chapter.
- Book reviews: the number of reviews of your book/chapter and what reviewers are saying about it
- Ratings: Amazon.com and Goodreads ratings
- Sales figures: based on publisher supplied information
